The Brussels Comic Festival was here again last weekend and we had a meetup for the Balloon’s Day Parade on Sunday. The weather forecast scared off most of the participants, but in the end we were lucky to avoid the rain and even sun was peaking behind the clouds at times. The Photoresk group met […]
Pairi Daiza
We had heard about the baby panda born at Pairi Daiza and for a few months we waited for it to grow a little bit bigger (the newborns are simply tiny). Finally, at the end of August we organized a Photoresk meetup to visit the park. We chose Wednesday as weekends are known to be […]
Book celebration
Photoresk members got together to celebrate the new book on Brussels – Brussels Through Our Lens. The book was a collaborative effort of the group including 69 photos from more than 30 different individuals. People were excited to pick up their books and to see old friends. We had a glass of champagne to commemorate […]
Brussels flower carpet
Every two years Brussels’ Grand Place gets covered by a flower carpet consisting of nearly one million begonias. More than 100 volunteers assemble this famous tourist attraction in four hours. This year celebrating the 20th flower carpet, a beautiful Japanese design was chosen to dignify the 150 years of diplomatic relations and friendship between Belgium […]
Photography expo in Gent
Brussels Photoresk group did a day trip to Gent on 7th August. The idea was to visit the photography expo called Eyes Wide Open. We hopped into a train and got off at Gent Sint-Pieters railway station. The exposition took place at St Peter’s Abbey. Passing little flower gardens and enjoying the biggest park in […]
Sunny day in Liège
The photo walk in Liège, Belgium, started at the famous Guillemins Railway Station, designed by Santiago Calatrava. Everyone took their cameras out and a good moment was spent capturing the inspiring shapes of the wide building. The tour then lead us to the Parc de la Boverie, after crossing the new bridge, where we had […]
Belgian National Day
The Belgian National Day took place 21st of July, as it does every year. Once again, the Brussels Photoresk group attended the colorful festivities of the day. High security and smaller crowds kept the atmosphere calmer than during the previous years, yet many came to enjoy the sunny day, food, performances and parade by the […]
Fashion in Brussels
Brussels is one of the creative fashion centers in the world where the students from today will set the style for tomorrow. On Friday 17th of June 2016, Photoresk Brussels went to see a fashion show by the students of Haute École Francisco Ferrer. The autumn/winter 2016/2017 collections are now out and could be glanced […]
Bluebells in Hallerbos
Only once a year, during the weeks of April, it is possible to get amazed by the bluebell fields in Hallerbos. The blue flowers cover the forest floor like a carped and you need to watch out not to miss them since every spring is different. Our Photoresk Brussels group had an excellent timing this […]
Real Brussels beers and tour in a vintage bus
In April, we had a ride with the Brussels Beer Bus. It took us to all the city sites. We could see them from a unique perspective: from inside an old Brussels vintage bus. Samples of real Belgium beers were served and the atmosphere was great. We finally finished in the Beer Museum.
