Hey everyone,
We’re going on a photo walk through Duisburg’s 600-hectare urban forest – well, just a small part of it, but still! The forest is mostly made up of beech, holly, alder, and birch trees. The ground here is from the Oligocene era, around 30 million years old.
Now, we’re not sure how much autumn color will be left on the trees (the weather’s not been great), but let’s make the most of it and try to capture any autumn moments we can! We will surely find plenty of other interesting photo opportunities.
- We’ll meet 10:50 am at the (free) parking lot in front of TURA (the gymnastics and field sports club) in Duisburg-Neudorf. There’s a bus stop just around the corner, so it’s easy to get to.
- From there, it’s about a 1 km walk to the first stop: the wild boar enclosure. We’ll stop to snap some pics of those funny cute (and also highly dangerous) piggies.
- Next, we’ll walk about 1.3 km to the old quarry, which is our second stop.
- The way back to the starting point will be another 1.7 km.
Please make sure you’re in good enough shape for a bit of walking. Bring weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy shoes, and something to drink. If you want to bring snacks, feel free to share! (Because sharing is caring)
Looking forward to seeing you all there!
