The Photoresk Photography Focus-Talks. The monthly photoresk meetings are becoming more and more popular in Brussels! This time Daniel talked about HDR techniques and gave us a comprehensive insight into this very technical subject. Of course h – as always – in a relaxed, friendly and relaxed atmosphere with many opportunities for interesting conversations on […]

Photography Focus-Talk – India
The presenter of the evening, Mr. Suresh Pattabhiraman, shared his impressions from Southern India. He took us on a road trip to his homeland and to explore the areas of his youth. We received a lot of insider knowledge from someone who knows this region like his own pockets; we explored the sacred temples of the region, learned about local traditions, and of course enjoyed the great photos taken by our dear Photoresk member.
Retrospective of Robert Doisneau
Another great photo exhibition! This time we went to the Museum of Ixelles, which is also one of the hidden treasures in Brussels. It was a very extensive exhibition of Robert Doisneau, nicely put together and arranged in two floors. In the middle of the space they had large prints positioned so that one could […]
Trip to Ghent, visiting “The Photographic I – Other Pictures”
Ghent is one of the five art cities in Flanders and truly a gem. There are a lot of things to visit, one of the most popular ones being the Museum of Contemporary Art – S.M.A.K. (Stedelijk Museum voor Actuele Kunst). The museum is a relatively new addition to what the city has to offer […]
Nuit Blanche
The yearly Nuit Blanche took place in early October and it offered a great opportunity to experiment with taking photos in the dark. The Parc de Bruxelles was gorgeously illuminated and provided good surroundings to socially critical performance as well as installation art. This year’s theme was ‘Power Games’ …reflection and humour went hand in […]
Photo exhibition: Brussels 50 years ago
In September, Photoresk visited the exhibition of Brussels Plaizier publishing house. This small publishing house has built up an image library including vintage postcards, prints, calendars and books since 1977, showing architectural germs in a vast collection of (mostly) postcards. For anybody who has some connection to Brussels, this exhibition is absolutely worthwhile exploring. Yet, […]
We did it again: Photoresk at Zot Day 2017
It is now the second year in a row for Photoresk to participate the Zot Day in mid-September. The whole inner city of Brussels, along Boulevard Anspach, was packed with action sport demonstrations: mountain bike, kick-board, slack-line and many other sports which you would not normally see in the center. Yet, the absolute highlight of […]
Lesbos, Greece
Six photographers, seven days – and lots of things to explore on the Greek island of Lesbos. There is hardly anything regarding photography that you cannot explore when you visit the Greek island of Lesbos in early summer. And we – a group of six photographers with different levels of experience from Belgium, Great Britain, […]
Touring Aachen
It was great to be on the road with a group of photographers, like-minded people. Our Photoresk community is growing and we have now large groups in Brussels, Aachen and Cologne, and it was about time we organised another international meetup. Many thanks to Alexandra who suggested that we meet in Aachen! Photographers came from […]
