Welcome to Photoresk
Photoresk is a friendly community for photography enthusiasts of all experience levels. Whether you shoot with a phone, a vintage film camera, or a professional setup – if you enjoy creating images and want to connect with others who do, you’re in the right place.
We started as a local Meetup initiative in 2012, bringing curious minds and keen eyes together for photo walks and online conversations. What began with a few meetups in Brussels has grown into a vibrant, international group of over 5,000 members across multiple cities and online spaces.
As of September 1st, 2025, Photoresk officially moved away from Meetup and now lives entirely on this redesigned website. Here you’ll find our community news, upcoming activities, member spotlights, virtual galleries, and – most importantly – ways to participate.

How It Works
Membership is free. You only need an interest in photography and a respectful mindset. When you apply, your request is reviewed within 48 hours. We’re open to everyone, but we want to keep things troll-free – so a quick check is part of the deal.
Once accepted, you can create a profile, sign up for events, explore member galleries, and – if you wish – activate additional features or become a local organizer.
Points & Recognition
Photoresk has a point system to celebrate contributions: whether you attend, organize, share photos, or help others, you can earn points. Organizers can award points directly, and we’re exploring lightweight forms for members to claim participation too – we want it to be fun, not admin-heavy 😊.
Your Privacy, Your Choice
In your profile settings, you’ll find a “Visibility” tab. You can choose whether your profile or badge is visible to non-members. By default, everything is visible only to registered members.
What’s Next?
Once you click “Join”, you’ll be guided to the short application form. Expect a warm welcome, a few inspiring invites to upcoming activities, and the start of a new photography adventure – online or offline.
